the Aislers Set

Now I can't remember where I saw this written, but I'm pretty sure that someone somewhere described the Aislers Set as "crash pop", which for me perfectly describes their manic all-cylindars-firing-at-once blend of 60's pop and grinding guitar on songs like 'Red Door' or "the Way to Market Station" from 2000's "the Last Match". But that's only part of the story. The rest of the time, they're full-on sweet melody and snappy instrumentation from handclaps to horns. I hope they wouldn't be offended if I suggested you imagine the Go Go's with the clock wound about 20 years backward and 20 year forward at the same time. They're as likely to open for rockers like Sleater-Kinney as they are for folks like the Magnetic Fields.
