Black Cat

Street address:

    1811 14th St. NW, Washington, DC 20009 (on 14th St. between S and T) - Yahoo map.

Phone:

    Club 202-667-7960
    Concert Line 202-667-7960
    Bar 202-667-4490

Tickets:

Buy them at the door or at the box office (or perhaps through Ticketmaster 202-432-SEAT, although I've never done that). There are two different stages at the Black Cat, a larger "main stage" upstairs, and a smaller "back stage", behind the Red Room bar on the ground floor. Doors to the main stage open at 8:30 Sun-Thu and at 9:30 Fri-Sat. Doors to back stage shows open at 9 Sun-Thu and 9:30 Fri-Sat.

Parking:

If you can't park on 14th street (which you probably won't be able to, unless you get there super-early), try parking on one of the cross-streets, like T or Wallach Pl (one block north of T), or Swann St. (between S and T).

Places to eat nearby:

Oh, there are a lot of places to eat around the Black Cat, many of which I haven't tried. But there's a little cafe attached to the Black Cat that is pretty good (and serves vegan stuff!).

Highly recommended is Ben's Chili Bowl on 1213 U St. NW, a few blocks Northeast of the Black Cat (walk north on 14th St., turn right on U St., and Ben's is between 12th and 13th). Ben's features selections for meat-eaters as well as for vegans -- and has great milkshakes. And their menu is online!
