DJ Andy SmithI remember seeing Andy Smith open for Portishead in 1997 - at the time, I'd not heard of him, and I remember thinking "This guy is awful - hopefully he'll stop torturing us soon." It's funny thinking about that seven years later, as he's subsequently become one of my favorite DJ's as the depth of his knowledge about music is fantastic - everything from old soul and funk to hip hop and everything in between. It's really a pleasure to listen to things that he compiles - not just because you can always learn something from them, but also because they're great to bust a move to.
