Don Caballero

In a confusing turn of events, drummer Damon Che appears to be re-assembling Don Caballero utilizing not the other original members - but the members of a different band, Creta Bourzia. An interesting strategy. Don Caballero are masters of what I like to call "challenging" music - not really something you can play in the background while other people are in the room, and have something vaguely resembling a conversation. But then, that's the trouble with putting a table saw in one of your songs. The neat thing is that they manage to distill the chaos and noise into something listenable (when you're in the right mood) - and they've got a fabulous sense of rhythm and crazy chord progressions to boot. Maybe if you're as lucky as we were in LA, drummer Damon Che will share more fun descriptions of their new songs like: "So this next song is called 'Severe Listening Disorder.' It's a new song, and it's quite pretty. It reminds me of emptying a package of frozen peas on my head before I go to sleep. But of course, that could never happen - that was just a daydream."
