the Ladybug Transistor

There was once a time when people honestly cared about writing and arranging music and creating beautiful harmonies. Unfortunately, those times seem to have largely past us by, and now you can be Successful Musician by dressing up in spandex like Mr. Scary and prancing about the stage yelping angst-ridden polemics set to music that is louder, harder, and faster than the folks who were there the night before. I can't say that the Ladybug Transistor will save us entirely from the blight of Corporate Angst Rock, but they're doing their part. I had an opportunity to hear them opening for Beulah, and I was instantly taken by the fact that here were five people who honestly cared about writing and performing beautiful nostalgic music. I bought their album 'The Albemarle Sound' at the show and have enjoyed it. It's really quite nice being transported to that time long past...
