My Morning Jacket
There's something epic about My Morning Jacket's second album, "At Dawn" - something about the way they've captured lead singer's Jim James's voice which makes it sound like it's echoing over the plains, with a really beautifully-recorded blend of acoustic and electric guitars and balance between pastoral and the somewhat meatier melodies. Live, they rock like Skynyrd, but in a wholesome way - probably one of the most energetic and engaging concerts I've seen in a long, long time.
