Rye Coalition

For reasons which are still not quite clear, earlier releases by Rye Coalition never quite clicked with me, despite continuous prodding by my sister. And then they recorded "On Top" with the ever-talented studio wizard Mr. Steve Albini, and came up with what may be the magic elixir of rock for me - take equal parts Led Zeppelin (RIP) and the Jesus Lizard (also RIP). Shake - do not stir - and you get a wonderfully heavy, wonderfully chaotic, tasteful sonic melange which cries out to be played at volumes sure to annoy your neighbors. And if my neighbors are reading this - I am sorry. Sometimes you just have to rock.
